John has been in the Financial Planning profession since 2010 and has since progressed to becoming a Chartered Financial Planner and more recently Managing Director of Ascent Financial Planning. John works closely with both private and corporate clients to help them achieve their personal and financial goals and he is passionate about helping clients live their best lives. He has a friendly down to earth approach, and prides himself on building long term relationships with his clients whilst delivering financial planning advice in an easy to understand manner. John lives with his wife Chloe and their miniature schnauzer Keith on the North Wales coast and enjoys being active, travelling, and spending time with his friends and family.

Gwilym started in the Financial Planning profession in 2010 and has since gained Chartered Financial Planner status demonstrating that he is at the forefront of the profession, while also serving as a mark of trust for current and prospective clients. In 2018 he was made a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and more recently Managing Director of Ascent Financial Planning. Gwilym adds value to families who have assets to invest, successful professionals and business owners to help them to achieve financial independence and to live the lives they desire. Working to a carefully created personal financial plan, Gwilym aims to build long term relationships with his clients to ensure that their medium and long term planning goals are continuously being updated and ultimately achieved. Gwilym lives with his wife Del, three children; Jack, Oliver and Sophie and Labrador Nala. When not supporting his children with their hobbies, he enjoys the great outdoors either while running with his local club or taking long walks with friends and family.

Gaynor has been involved in financial services since 1979 and has achieved both Certified and Chartered Financial Planner status. In 2023 Gaynor took a step back from advising clients to spend more time with her husband, Steve. Gaynor continues to be a Director of Ascent Financial Planning where she will use her knowledge and experience to support Gwilym and John in driving the business forward and maintaining client relationships. Outside of work, Gaynor is actively involved with her local Church currently being the PCC Treasurer. She is a lifelong Liverpool season ticket holder and keeping with the sporting theme also enjoys the gym and walking. But to totally relax at the weekend Gaynor enjoys cooking & entertaining family & friends.

Paula has worked in financial services since 1990 and has been an Administrator with the business since July 2018. Paula’s role is to be a dedicated administrator to half of our clients and this has allowed her to build up a trusted relationship with each. Clients know that Paula is the first port-of-call for their queries, and this personal touch is something that clients really value. Paula lives in Gronant with her husband Wayne and in her spare time enjoys taking holidays abroad, socialising with friends and family, walking, reading and following MotoGP racing.

Cathy has worked in financial services since 2009 and has been an Administrator with the business since July 2018. Cathy’s role is to be a dedicated administrator to half our clients and this has allowed her to build up a trusted relationship with each. Clients know that Cathy is the first port-of-call for their queries, and this personal touch is something that clients really value. Cathy lives in Prestatyn with her family and in her spare time enjoys spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. Also enjoys long walks with their family dog Charlie.
